Seyo Oh is...

He is a Master of Theological Studies student at McCormick Theological Seminary. He received a B.Th. and M.Div. from Hanshin University, Korea. There he encountered Minjung theology and social justice movements. He wrote an M.Div. thesis, "A study on the loss and recovery of the language of Minjung : centered on Han and madness of Minjung." Through this thesis, he discovered that Minjung's language is controlled by discourse, through Michel Foucault's theory and suggested paying attention to the sound outside the discourse from the standpoint of Minjung theology. His principal theological interest is the theological interpretation of solidarity and the struggle for the right to the city of multitude exploited by capital.

He was born and raised in the east of Seoul. He has seen many side effects of urbanization as he grows up. This made him think about urban problems. He has participated in social justice movements responding to urban problems. In 2016, he co-founded the Okbaraji Missionary Center (Okbaraji means supporting prisoners' food and clothing in Korean), a social justice missionary group that works for the right to the city, centering on the anti-gentrification movement.

He is an ordained pastor in the Republic of Korea(PROK) in 2018.

He wrote some music, including short liturgical songs.
